To create a toy in the form of a cat or a tiger, you will need the following tools and materials:
- fabric, matching threads and filler;
- scissors, needles, pins and tailor's chalk or marker;
- additional decorative elements - eyes, spout, buttons, ribbons, lace and more.
In more detail, you should dwell on the choice of the main material and filler, since there should be no questions with the rest. For toys it is better to use naturalbasis, since the symbol of the New Year loves naturalness. The most popular and suitable materials are calico, linen, jersey, cotton, gabardine and fleece.
It is not necessary to go to the store for a new cut, you can use old clothes, jeans, scraps, terry towels, furniture upholstery, leftover lace, yarn, rope, etc. for work.
As for the filler, here the choice is also great, but it is better to give preference to artificial materials: holofiber, synthetic winterizer, synthetic winterizer, foam rubber.

- Sewing individual parts. Usually the headpaws, tail and torso are parts of the toy that are sewn and stuffed separately. When doing this, it is necessary to overcast the edges of the fabric patterns if the material crumbles, and make notches in the rounding places.
- Toy assembly. All the details need to be connected together, sew eyes, nose and other decorative elements. This is where the real creativity begins. After all, thanks to the different details, the work gets individuality.
Of course, you can quickly and easily sew a tiger with a sewing machine, but if you don't have one, don't despair. Having mastered simple hand stitches, such as “by the needle”, over the edge, buttonhole, overlock, blind and running stitch, you can also sew the cat you like. To sew a striped tiger or a cat, it is enough to have a pair of socks, a few buttons, some filler, a needle and thread on hand. Such cats are sewn very simply, but they look very lively and cute.
To sew a lying Tiger, you need:
- Cut one sock lengthwise towards the heel to make a torso and four legs. Heel on toewill become a butt. The front legs should be slightly shorter than the back legs.

At this stage, it is important to follow a number of rules for working with patterns in order to avoid possible mistakes in the future:
- Make patterns should be from thick cardboard, it will fit closer to the fabric and it will be easier to trace with a marker.
- On each pattern it is necessary to indicate: the name of the part, the number of patterns to be made, the direction of the thread or pile, the connection points with other parts of the product.
