Salad "Herring under a fur coat" is not only a festive dish that adorns the table with its bright color combinations, but also a he althy vitamin cocktail, so necessary in the autumn and spring periods of beriberi.

You don't need any specific culinary skills to cook it. It is enough to have a good mood and desire.

So, we are preparing a classic Herring under a fur coat

What we need for cooking:

    • carrot - 200 gr
    • red beetroot - 0.5 kg
    • potatoes - 0.5 kg
    • lightly s alted herring - 2 pieces of medium size
    • onion - 200 gr
    • mayonnaise - 600 gr (you don't have to use all)
    • eggs - 6 pcs

    Vegetables - carrots, potatoes and beets and eggs - boil until tender. You can clean them before, but it is better after cooking.

    Meanwhile, clean the herring - cut off the head, remove the skin, pull out the backbone and small bones, cut off the tail.

    Cut the herring fillet with a sharp knife into small pieces.

    Finely chop eggs and onions, three potatoes, beets and carrots on a grater.

    Further it all depends on the amount of products and dishes in which you are going to serve the salad. It is better to make herring under a fur coat in a deep transparent salad bowl. If there are a lot of products, then the salad will be in many layers, but if the number of products is small, you can get by with one layer of each of them.

    Alternately put potatoes, herring, onions, carrots, eggs, beets into a salad bowl. We coat each layer with a little mayonnaise. S alt is not needed for this salad.

    Decorate the dish with a mesh of mayonnaise on top or make a “fur coat” from grated yolks. The salad is ready, bon appetit!
