Planning a vacation, important events, distant or long trips requires careful preparation, it is necessary to approach this issue in advance. To prepare everything in the best possible way, you should first check the calendar for 2023, paying attention to long holidays, shortened work weeks and upcoming rest periods.

2023 starts on Sunday and ends on the same day of the week. It is not a leap year, so it will have 365, not 366 days (the next leap year will be 2024). For lovers of astrological forecasts, it is important that from the second new moon after the New Year - from January 22 - the era of the blue water Rabbit begins. According to the Slavic calendar, 2023 is held under the auspices of the Fireman Horse.

How will we rest and work

In 2023, according to the Gregorian calendar, weekdays and weekends are distributed in the following ratio:

    • 260 - weekdays;
    • 105 - weekend.

    This ratio will become the basis for the work schedule of those who work on a five-day week, and on Saturday and Sunday there are periods of rest. Record holders for the number of days off will be April and December: in these months, the total numberSaturdays and Sundays will be equal to 10.

    To make planning your vacation and leisure even more convenient, you can download the calendar for 2023 in electronic form. Those who are used to marking with a marker can print it out.

    Holidays

    In addition to the standard weekends that are present in the Gregorian calendar, you can also relax during the holidays that are officially introduced by the government. These are 4 categories of holidays:

    1. All-Russian;
    2. international;
    3. professional;
    4. memorable dates.

    The Russian Federation is a state in which Orthodox Christians make up 75% of the total population. For this reason, Christmas is included among the official public holidays on the calendar.

    In total, 8 official holidays can be seen in the calendar for 2023:

    Long weekend

    In the Gregorian calendar, weekends are Saturday and Sunday. But besides them, there is an opportunity to rest longer if the holiday comes before the weekend or on Monday after the holiday date.

    Another mini-vacation for all those who work from Monday to Friday at the very beginning of the year is the Christmas holidays. Because of this, in January the number of working days is minimal. The New Year holidays will begin on January 1, after which it will be necessary to return to work only on January 9. Traditionally, trips to warmer climes or across are planned for this time, so you need to book tours and accommodation for the Christmas holidays in advance.

    Long holidays fall on the following periods:

    • in January (New Year holidays) - January 1-8;
    • in June - from 10 to 12 June;
    • in November - from the 4th to the 6th.

    The production calendar for 2023 has not yet been approved. It is possible that there will be minor changes in it. For example, there is a possibility that May 8 will become a non-working day in the calendar, and then the weekend will stretch for 4 days - from May 6 to May 9 inclusive.
